Canada, the second-largest country in the world, is located in North America. Canada has one of the highest latitudes on Earth, which leads to most of the country being cold and snowy, especially during the winter. The multicultural city of Toronto has many atmospheric restaurants. It is home to a beautiful skyline emphasised by the countless skyscrapers that fill the city. When in Toronto, a trip to Niagara Falls is a must-do. The biggest waterfall in North America, Niagara Falls is an hour ride from the centre of Toronto and is a sight to behold. The CN Tower is an iconic building found in the heart of Toronto. This tower is the tallest freelance building located on the whole continent. Climb to the top to see a breath-taking panoramic view of the city, 553 metres above the ground.

Although the majority of Canadians speak English as their first language, the primary language of Montreal is French. This beautiful city is built on a mountain. It is the number one city for international events such as Cirque de Soleil. Montreal has many walking tours which bring you around the streets of the town, explaining the history and importance of numerous buildings and sights as you stroll. So why grab a crisp croissant from a local boulangerie and join a walking tour to fully experience Montreal. Or, if you are a lover of nature and exercise, then hiking Mount Royal is a must-do. This hill is 233 metres high and when at the top, it gives a gorgeous view of the whole city. Being at the top of this hill during sunrise or sunset also provides an added bit of beauty.

Situated on the south-west of Canada, Vancouver is known for its diverse culture, natural scenery, and its fresh, local seafood. For a refreshing view of the beauty Vancouver has to offer, why not rent some bikes and take a cycle around Stanley Park. This green oasis of trees makes for a peaceful and relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of a big city. For something to do in the evening, visit Richmond night market. This market has a lively and vibrant atmosphere, and cuisine from all over the world is sold. By some local street food and eat it under the night sky for an unforgettable experience.

Mac the Moose

The moose is one of Canada’s national animals. Moose are found in almost every region of Canada, but if you never get to see one while you are there, be sure to check out Mac the Moose.

Created by sculptor artist Don Foulds in 1984, Mac the Moose is said to be the largest moose on Earth, standing 32 feet tall. The moose is made out of steel frame, metal mesh and cement.

This moose is definitely worth stopping by as it has earned the title of largest moose statue in the world!
